FAQ

Your questions, answered.

Plant milk, postbiotics, coffee, gut health, and everything in between.
Here’s what you actually need to know.

MØØ & postbiotics

What makes MØØ different from other plant-based milks?

MØØ brings everyday plant-based milk and meaningful function together.

MØØ Oat and Almond include clinically studied postbiotics, so you can add them to a routine you already have, without another supplement, powder, or pill to remember.

MØØ Barista Oat takes a different approach. It’s specifically formulated for coffee, with the body, texture, and foaming performance coffee lovers and baristas expect.

What do postbiotics actually do?

Postbiotics are preparations of beneficial microorganisms that have been inactivated while retaining components associated with their studied health effects.

The postbiotics in MØØ Oat and Almond have been studied in a randomized, placebo-controlled human clinical trial investigating digestive and gut-health outcomes.

Postbiotics vs. probiotics: what’s the difference?

The simplest difference is that probiotics are alive; postbiotics are not.

Probiotics contain live microorganisms and need to remain viable to deliver their intended benefit. Postbiotics contain inactivated microorganisms and/or their components, making them much more stable.

That stability makes postbiotics especially well-suited to food and beverages because they can withstand processing and storage while conveying the same benefits as probiotics without needing to stay alive.

What is HT-ES1?

HT-ES1 is the clinically studied postbiotic used in MØØ Oat and Almond milk. It is a heat-treated form of Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7347.

Because it is inactivated rather than live, HT-ES1 is highly stable and well suited to shelf-stable foods and beverages.

You’ll find the research and study details on our Science page.

Why does MØØ cost more than some plant-based milks?

Not all plant-based milks are made to do the same thing.

With MØØ Oat and Almond, part of what you’re paying for is the inclusion of clinically studied postbiotics, adding meaningful function to something you already use every day. MØØ Barista Oat is specifically formulated for coffee performance, with the body, texture, and foam that hold up whether you’re behind an espresso machine or pouring into your everyday mug.

Across the range, we focus on thoughtful formulation, quality ingredients, and products that deliver a reason to choose them beyond simply being dairy-free.

Taste, coffee & everyday use

How does MØØ taste?

Like plant milk should.

MØØ Oat is smooth, clean, and oat-forward with just the right note of sweetness. MØØ Almond is light and silky with a gentle sweetness. MØØ Barista Oat has a richer, fuller body designed specifically for coffee.

The function is there where we want it. Great taste comes first everywhere.

Is MØØ sweetened?

MØØ Oat has no added sweeteners. Its sweetness comes from the oats and the way they are processed.

MØØ Almond gets a gentle sweetness from a small amount of rice syrup.

For exact sugar and nutrition information, check the Nutrition Facts for each product.

What is barista oat milk?

Barista oat milk is oat milk formulated specifically for coffee.

Compared with regular oat milk, it typically has a fuller body and is designed to steam and foam more consistently. MØØ Barista Oat is made to create smooth microfoam and maintain its texture in hot coffee, whether you’re using a café machine or making your morning flat white at home.

Does oat milk curdle or split in coffee?

It can. Heat and the natural acidity of coffee can cause some plant milks to separate.

MØØ Barista Oat is formulated specifically to perform in hot coffee, helping it maintain a smooth texture and stable foam rather than splitting in the cup.

Does MØØ foam well?

MØØ Barista Oat was made for it.

Its fuller body produces smooth, stable microfoam and stretches well under a steam wand. MØØ Oat also works well for everyday home coffee when you don’t need full barista-style performance.

The foam is on us. The latte art is on you.

Can I cook and bake with MØØ?

Absolutely.

Use MØØ Oat in sauces, batters, cereal and everyday cooking. MØØ Almond works beautifully in sMØØthies, baking and lighter recipes, while MØØ Barista Oat is your coffee specialist.

The postbiotics in MØØ Oat and Almond are heat-stable, so these products don’t have to be consumed cold.

Gut health

Is oat milk good for gut health?

That depends on what’s in it.

Oats can be part of a balanced diet, but MØØ Oat goes a step further by including clinically studied postbiotics.

The postbiotics used in MØØ Oat and Almond have been investigated in a human clinical trial for digestive and gut-health outcomes. You can explore the research, study design, and limitations on our Science page.

Does oat milk cause bloating?

People respond differently to foods, including oat milk, so there isn’t one answer for everyone.

MØØ Oat contains clinically studied postbiotics that have been investigated for digestive and gut-health outcomes. MØØ plant milk is a beverage, not a treatment for bloating, IBS, or any other medical condition.

If you have persistent digestive symptoms or a diagnosed gastrointestinal condition, speak with your healthcare provider.

How long does it take for postbiotics to work?

There isn’t a universal timeline, and individual responses vary.

The postbiotics used in MØØ Oat and Almond have been studied with consistent daily use rather than as a quick, one-off solution. Think of MØØ as an easy part of your everyday routine, not something you need to “feel working” after one glass.
